5. Servicing and
Maintenance
Followthesafetyinstructionsfor
servicingandmaintenance.
Specialistequipmentisrequired
for the disassembly of Double
Discaxles.Pleaseconsultyour
dealerunderanycircumstances
thatrequiredisassemblyofthese
axles.
5.1 Servicing
Yourmachinehasbeendesignedandcon-
structedformaximumperformance,opera-
tional efciency and operator friendliness
underawidevarietyofoperatingconditions.
Prior to delivery, your machine has been
checkedatthefactoryandbyyourauthorised
dealertoensurethatyoureceiveamachine
inoptimumcondition.
To ensure trouble-free operation,
it is important that servicing and
maintenanceworkisperformedat
therecommendedintervals.
5.2 Cleaning
In order to ensure that the machine is
alwaysinoperatingconditionandtoachieve
optimumperformance,performthecleaning
andservicingworkatregularintervals.
Avoid cleaning the roll bearings with a
high-pressure hose or a direct water jet.
Thehousing,screwedconnectionsandball
bearingsarenotwatertight.
5.3 Changing Tine Points
and Wings
Whenchangingthetinepointsandwingsitis
importanttoobservesafeworkingpractices.
• Themachineshouldberaisedandthe
parking stands should be put into the
maintenancesetting(seeFig. 2.01on
Page16).
• Lower the machine onto the parking
stands.
• Whilestillattachedtothetractor,thetine
pointswillbeclearofthegroundallowing
forthemaintenancetotakeplace.
Do not attempt to assist tting
tine points with a steel headed
hammer, as this can lead to
splinteringofthemetalduetoits
hardness,whichcancauseinjury.
Iftinettingrequiresassistance,
a copper/hide mallet should be
used.Weareyeprotection.
Ifparkingstandsarenottted:
• Lowerthemachineontoalevelandsolid
surface.
• With the machine tted to the tractor,
removethetoplink.
• Itisnowpossibletoraisethemachine,
allowingittopivotonthe‘heels‘ofthe
trailingtinessothataccesstothepoints
isachieved.
