Problem Cause Solution
Fold or unfold jerky or
imbalanced
Air in lines Bleed fold/lift circuit (page 133).
Lift jerky or imbalanced
Air in lines Bleed fold/lift circuit (page 132).
Lift-Assist casters
oscillating
Caster stabilizer too lightly set Increase spring tension on caster
stabilizer piston (page 143).
Uneven application
depth
Excessive field speed. Reduce field speed.
Coulters set too deep, lifting entire applicator Reduce coulter depth.
Rough application conditions Rework the field.
Worn tines inadequately preparing trench Replace worn tines.
Wings too Shallow
Insufficient weight transferred to wings Increase weight transfer (page 92).
Center too Shallow
Excess weight transferred to wings Decrease weight transfer (page 92).
Sealers not compacting
the soil as desired.
Sealer adjustment not optimal. Adjust sealer (page 87).
Not level front to rear. Check applicator front-to-back level

Too wet or cloddy Wait until drier weather or rework
ground.
